Innovyze Releases IWLive Generation V5.0, Extending Real-Time Modeling, Operation and Security Capabilities for Smart Water Networks |
Latest Version offers Telemetry Triggered Projection Runs, Enhanced System Validation, Enriched Map Display and Expanded Usability Options |
Broomfield, Colorado, USA, June 17, 2014 — Innovyze, a leading global innovator of business analytics software and technologies for smart wet infrastructure, today announced the worldwide release of Generation V5.0 of IWLive, a major new version of its industry-leading real-time water network modeling solution. Featuring significant new and extended capabilities driven by input from Innovyze customers, the new release reinforces Innovyze’s commitment to offering proven, best-of-class solutions to address the business drivers for smart water grids today and tomorrow. A complete real-time network hydraulic and water quality modeling, monitoring, forecasting and SCADA integration software, IWLive equips water utility operators with tools that are both predictive and reactive. It continuously assesses system performance and alerts operators to problems that may arise in the coming minutes, hours, or days, allowing them to quickly determine their time of onset and severity and develop reliable response strategies to minimize downstream effects. Designed for use in the water distribution control room, IWLive gives operators unprecedented decision making ability in developing real-time response strategies. They can run accurate hydraulic simulations that factor in energy costs, weather, real time or delayed SCADA telemetry, demand history, valve and pumping control scenarios. Beyond increasing efficiency and reducing energy consumption, IWLive can help operators understand the impact of their systems on CO2 emissions as well as the effects of main breaks, pump and reservoir shutdowns, and other scheduled maintenance. The fully optimized IWLive interface allows operators to see a map of all water infrastructures, including background maps. Highlighted color coding shows predicted problem areas; a single click produces a detailed map showing pipes, valves, pumps, reservoirs and other water assets. Animation of the map illustrates the development of the problem, while graphs show simulated pressures and reservoir levels. IWLive can be accessed remotely over a VPN, and configured to send critical warning messages via SMS or email. V5.0 is packed with user-requested enhancements and several innovative capabilities that further enhance user productivity. Projection runs can now be automatically triggered by live telemetry data feeds, giving operators continuous access to the most recent information on which to base their operational decision-making. Alarms are configured to monitor external data sources, such as a SCADA system, identifying when certain conditions are met and triggering projection runs at a pre-specified frequency during that time. The latest version ofIWLive also includes enhanced validation of input fields. Rigorous validation enables the system to identify potential configuration issues in advance and provides the user with the information needed to correct any issues before projection runs are initiated. This solid foundation ensures that IWLive continues to deliver a robust real-time system ideal for control room environments. IWLive uses map themes to enable operators to quickly identify areas of a network that require their attention. In IWLive V5.0, this functionality has been further extended to allow multiple themes to be applied to the map view of the operator interface. This enables IWLive to provide increased levels of productivity without a corresponding increase in system complexity. Usability has also been enhanced by the addition of workspace support within IWLive. Individual operators can configure window properties such as layout, formatting, content and sizing to be saved for each user in the master database and then optionally applied when IWLive is restarted. A new “Window” toolbar, improved export options, increased ability to view and edit controls, additional labeling and map options plus close integration with Innovyze DemandWatch (water demand forecasting) further extend the software’s capabilities. For a complete listing of new features and capabilities in IWLive V5.0, visit the “What’s New” section in the online help. “Control room operators need a robust, easy to use and feature-rich real-time monitoring system that can be implemented and used daily with minimal effort,” said Paul F. Boulos, Ph.D., BCEEM, NAE, Hon.D.WRE,Dist.D.NE, F.ASCE, President, COO and Chief Technical Officer of Innovyze. “With its comprehensive real-time modeling and advanced operational analytics, IWLive serves as the perfect bridge to more proactive, efficient operations with readily apparent, defensible cost-benefit results. The release of V5.0 demonstrates our commitment to ongoing delivery of innovative, efficiency-enabling technologies that meet the requirements for our customers’ next-generation high-performance smart water networks.” |
