EPA SWMM 5.1.010 Build 5.1.010 Update with Images

Image
------------------------ Build 5.1.010 (08/05/15) ------------------------- Source Engine Updates: 1. A modified version of Green-Ampt infiltration (MODIFIED GREEN AMPT) was added that no longer redistributes upper zone moisture deficit during low rainfall events. The original authors of SWMM's Green-Ampt model have endorsed this modified version. It will produce more infiltration for storm events that begin with low rainfall intensities, such as the SCS design storm distributions. 2. A new type of weir, a ROADWAY weir, has been added. It models roadway overtopping using the FHWA HDS-5 method and would typically be used in parallel with a culvert conduit. 3. Rule premises can now test whether a link has been open (or closed) for a specific period of time. See the Help file for more details. 4. Unsaturated hydraulic conductivity ("K") was added to the list of variables that can be used in a user-supplied groundwater flow equation. 5...

SWMM 5.1.008 (04/02/2015) New Features 1. Monthly adjustments for hydraulic conductivity used for rainfall infiltration and for exfiltration from storage nodes and conduits was added. This was added to the Monthly Adjustments Table // Data formats are: // TEMPERATURE v1 ... v12 // EVAPORATION v1 ... v12 // RAINFALL v1 ... v12 // CONDUCTIVITY v1 ... v12   2. LID drains can now send their outflow to a different node or subcatchment than the parent subcatchment in which they were placed. drainSubcatch; // subcatchment receiving drain flow //(5.1.008) drainNode; // node receiving drain flow //(5.1.008) 3. Conveyance system Outfall nodes now have the option to send their outflow onto a subcatchment, to simulate irrigation or complex LID treatment options. // --- add outfall's flow to subcatchment as runon and re-set routed // flow volume to 0 subcatch_addRunonFlow(k, Outfal...

The 10 year Anniversary of the release of EPA SWMM 5

Image
A colleague mentioned that this is the 10th year anniversary of EPA SWMM 5. I thought this important or noteworthy anniversary was worthy of a short blog. The release dates for SWMM 5 are from http://www2.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2014-10/epaswmm5_updates_0.txt which is in the download section of the EPA SWMM site  ----------------------- Build 5.0.002 (11/1/04) ----------------------- Engine Updates 1. Modifications made to the Picard method used for dynamic wave    flow routing routine. ------------------------ Build 5.0.001 (10/29/04) ------------------------ First official release of SWMM 5. since there were 4 releases during a 4 week period, it might be better to consider the whole month the release date for SWMM 5.0.001 to SWMM 5.0.004 Wikipedia has the whole timeline of SWMM 1/2/3/4/5 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storm_Water_Management_Model More about the ten year anniversary and the 25 year anniversary of EPA SWMM in 1996 here https://www.openswmm.org/Home/S...
